Say hello to the first release of our most recent endeavor, Port City Brewers’ Barrel-Aged Reserve. For the first release of this series, we aged our Colossal Anniversary Ale in Laird’s Apple Brandy barrels for 6 months to push the boundaries and take you on a journey of complexity and depth. It opens with aromas of oak, and vanilla, with subtle caramel and toasted almond notes from the barrel aging. The palate delivers hints of apple flavor, balanced by oak spice, warm vanilla, and layers of toffee, dried fruit, cinnamon and nutmeg. The high proof provides a gentle warmth and a dry finish. This beer is fresh, innovative, and unlike anything you've tasted before.
