Join us for an evening of Books & Brews on the eve of National Foreign Service Day!
We will honor the dedication, sacrifice and service of America’s diplomats on Thursday, May 1 at Port City Brewing Company, 3950 Wheeler Avenue, Alexandria from 5 – 8 pm. Four Foreign Service authors will discuss their experiences with the US State Department and their views on America’s role in international diplomacy and world affairs. Included are:
J. Michael Cleverly – retired Foreign Service Officer (FSO) and author of An American Tune: A Memoir of his 30+ year career within State Department;
Ben East – a returned Peace Corps volunteer turned FSO, editor for Foreign Service Journal and author of Profiles in Service;
Ted Osius - President/CEO of US-ASEAN Business Council, former US Ambassador to Vietnam, and author of Nothing is Impossible; and,
Steven L. Herman - Chief National Correspondent at Voice of America (US Agency for Global Media), ambassador for Council…
